CARTEN100 is no small feat. Stretching 100 miles from Cardiff to Tenby, this iconic 10-hour ride pushes cyclists through stunning Welsh countryside, steep climbs, and long endurance stretches. It’s a true test of physical and mental strength.

Naz

I’m Naz, a visually impaired mum of two based in Cardiff, with a passion for fitness and helping others break down barriers to being active. Running has played a huge role in my life, giving me confidence, independence and a strong sense of purpose. Now, I’m taking on the Carten100 cycle challenge to push myself even further and raise money for LOOK UK.

Supporting LOOK UK is deeply personal to me. As someone living with sight loss, I understand how important the right support, opportunities and community are – especially for young people navigating their own journeys.

I want to use this challenge not just to raise funds, but to raise awareness and show what’s possible with the right support behind you.

Training for this event hasn’t been without its challenges, but that’s exactly why it matters. Every mile is a reminder of why I started, and who I’m doing it for. If sharing my journey encourages even one person to get involved, donate, or believe in their own potential, then it’s all worth it.

Back in April 2018, our daughter was diagnosed with a benign, slow‑growing brain tumour on her optic pathway. During the two years it took to stabilise it, she lost part of her vision.

Life looks different for her now, and navigating the world with a visual impairment hasn’t been easy. It’s brought challenges with confidence, friendships, and feeling connected.

But LOOK has been a real game‑changer. Through their brilliant activities, she’s met new friends, we’ve connected with other families, and — thanks to the unforgettable LOOKfest — she discovered the long cane, which has boosted her independence and confidence in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

LOOK helps young people like her thrive, and I’m cycling to help them keep doing exactly that.

My name is Pam Sully, I turned 60 last week, I manage a heating company for a living, I have two grown-up children, in my younger days I used to cycle to Europe for holidays and for fun! Carten100 is going to be a lifetime challenge for me and probably my last chance at trying to complete a challenge like this, and what better way to do it, whilst raising money for such a good charity.
