Why Fundraise for LOOK?

60% of blind children will be bullied in school, and 90% of those who lose their vision in childhood will never work for more than 6 months (Royal Society of Blind Children).

When you take on a challenge for us, you’re not just ticking off a personal goal; you’re helping transform the lives of visually impaired young people across the UK.

From mentoring and youth programmes to practical support for families, your fundraising can change lives.

Your support means that no young person has to face sight loss alone.

This is your chance to do something extraordinary.

What You’re Fundraising For

Several people are holding parts of a large tube, working together to move a ball from the top to the bottom of the tube. "Meeting my mentor was life-changing. I felt understood, supported, and free to share my experiences. The advice I received and our friendship will stay with me forever."
LOOK Mentee

Your fundraising helps LOOK continue to deliver our:

  • Award-winning peer mentoring programme, connecting blind and partially sighted young people with experienced VI mentors who understand their journey.
  • Family support services, offering guidance, understanding, and community.
  • Accessible events and workshops that build confidence, skills, and friendship.

Your fundraising money has a life-changing impact on the young people that we help.

£100 will pay for our staff to deliver a World of Difference workshop in a VI young person’s school - promoting inclusion and understanding at school.
£200 will pay for a visually impaired young person to attend our 3-day festival – LOOKFest.
£250 will pay for the training of a visually impaired mentor.
£400 pays for a year’s worth of structured weekly mentoring support for a young person from a trained VI mentor and LOOK staff.
£800 will pay for a child to attend our week-long residential independence summer school at Jamie’s Farm.
£1000 will pay to train a visually impaired mentor as a forest school leader, leading directly to real job opportunities.

Fundraise Your Way

The most powerful challenges are the ones that mean something to you.

Whether you’re doing it in honour of someone, pushing yourself in a new way, or bringing people together, you can create a fundraiser that truly reflects your story.

And we’ll be here to help you make it happen.

Be the change – support LOOK UK!
