Every step they take and every pound they raise will go towards our vital mentoring programmes and support services, helping visually impaired young people build confidence, independence, and a brighter future. We couldn’t be more grateful for their dedication and passion.
No Donation is Too Small
No matter how big or small, your donation helps us reach more visually impaired children and their families, providing the guidance and support they need on their sight loss journeys. Here’s how your support can make an impact:
- £6: Pays for a young person to attend one of our VI-focused employment and opportunity days.
- £12: Provides access to an hour of our helpline service.
- £30: Funds an afternoon of face-to-face, one-to-one mentoring for a VI young person.
- £50: Pays for an hour of counselling for a recently diagnosed young person or their parent/carer.
- £100: Supports a workshop teaching sighted children about inclusion and understanding.
Let’s meet our fantastic runners and see how you can support their incredible journey to the 2025 London Mathon race day!

Meet the LOOK 2025 London Marathon Team
Meet Juliette: First-Time London Marathon Runner
This is my first London Marathon, and I couldn’t be more excited! A friend ran it last year and really inspired me to give it a go. In 2023 my brother was diagnosed with Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON), a rare, inherited form of vision loss that mostly affects young men. LOOK has been an incredible source of support as he learns to live with the challenges of being visually impaired.
I’ve been enjoying my training so far, even completing a run around the Formula 1 track in Abu Dhabi in 36°C heat at the end of last year!
Meet Ben: First-Time Marathon Runner
This year, I’m running my first London Marathon—and my first marathon ever! I’m so excited to be running for LOOK and can’t wait to hit the streets of London. I’ve taken on a few challenges before, including the Birmingham HYROX and a few half marathons, so a marathon felt like the next big step.
A friend ran for LOOK last year, and their experience inspired me to get involved and support this amazing charity. I’m ready to take on this new challenge and make a difference!
Meet Pesh: LOOK London Marathon Pro!
I’ve been running the London Marathon for LOOK since 2010, making this my 15th consecutive marathon for the charity. As someone with a visual impairment myself, I deeply understand the importance of the work LOOK does, not just for individuals but for families and the wider community. The support they provide is vital, and grassroots charities like LOOK often don’t get the funding they truly deserve.
I feel incredibly honoured to play a small part in helping and supporting their amazing work.
Meet Alice: First-Time London Marathon Runner for LOOK
Two years ago, my husband Adam ran the London Marathon for LOOK, this was the start of a wonderful relationship with LOOK. Standing at Horse Guards Parade, I felt so proud seeing the hard work of all the runners and knowing how much their efforts benefit visually impaired young people.
Inspired by Adam’s dedication and the impact he’s made, I decided it was my turn.
Meet Patrick: The Comeback King!
I was supposed to run the London Marathon in 2024 and had almost raised up to my fundraising target, my bags were packed, and I was finishing my training cycle. That all changed on March 27, 2024, when I was attacked on my way to work, stabbed, and nearly killed. Graciously, I worked my way back from walking to the bathroom to running the 2024 Chicago Marathon. LOOK was able to secure my spot for the 2025 race in London, so here we go again!
Meet Lizanne: Running her 16th London Marathon for LOOK.
As a personal injury lawyer, Lizanne feels she has a duty to give back to society. She’s been running the London Marathon for LOOK every year since 2009 and this year, on April 27th, Lizanne will be running her 16th London Marathon for LOOK.
“I feel I have two obligations, to give blood and to raise funds for charities supporting disabled people who do not have the ability to make legal claims. LOOK does fantastic work supporting young blind and partially sighted people to thrive, and I am so happy to be running my 16th consecutive London Marathon for LOOK.”
Meet Grant: Ticking off the Bucket List.
I started running six years ago when my vision worsened, and I could no longer play sighted sports. With retinitis pigmentosa, my eyesight is gradually deteriorating, so now feels like the perfect time to take on the London Marathon while I still can. I’m running for LOOK because, as a mentor and speaker for their parent/carer group, I’ve seen the incredible work they do to support visually impaired (VI) young people and their families. Growing up, I would have loved a VI mentor to talk to, so this is my way of giving back. I can’t wait to to experience the amazing atmosphere on race day while ticking this off my bucket list!
Meet Sam: Taking on His First London Marathon for LOOK.
2025 marks Sam’s debut London Marathon for LOOK, and he’s been putting in the hard work, braving the cold and wet January weather to prepare. We’re thrilled to have Sam on Team LOOK and can’t wait to cheer him across the finish line!
Meet Sunny: Running His First London Marathon for LOOK.
Sunny, is gearing up for his first London Marathon with Team LOOK and is loving the training so far. He’s excited to take on this incredible challenge while supporting visually impaired young people. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way, Sunny!
