Jamie’s Farm’s unique combination of farming, family and therapy offers an environment where young people are respected, and are given opportunities to display their talents and show responsibility.

Interacting with the on-site animals and being involved in their care encourages nurture, confidence, a sense of responsibility and achievement.

LOOK’s fantastic, friendly team of visually impaired volunteer mentors are on-hand all week to give you advice and tips on how to make the most of living with a visual impairment; from tips on cooking and managing your laundry, to making friends and speaking up for yourself.

The cost of our Youth Activity Week has been heavily subsidised by the charity and is offered to you at £150. With just 8 spaces available, we are anticipating an enthusiastic response, so please read on before applying.

If you are offered a place on our Jamie’s Farm Activity Week, you will need to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance will be due no later than six weeks before the event. The total contribution required is £150 per person.

Your contribution covers your accommodation, all food during the stay and all organised activities.

We have priced this event in line with our standard pricing policy, which is to offer any event at 25% of the cost per person to the charity. The actual cost to LOOK per person to attend a family weekend is approximately £600, so if you are in a position to pay more than the minimum required that would be greatly appreciated. Importantly, given the costs, it is vital that you inform us if you’re unable to accept your place so that it can be offered to another young person on the waiting list.

LOOK is committed to offering equal opportunities to all families, regardless of their economic or financial situation. We are able to direct you to potential sources of grants and funding to help towards the cost of a place at the Jamie’s Farm Activity Week, should this be of interest. To enquire more about this please contact Elin Williams on elin@look-uk.org or 07470 872782.

This experience will change and shape you into a different person. There are parts of yourself that you will leave behind and forget that version of you ever existed. There’s also going to be some amazing new parts of you that you’ll bring back with you.” Jessica, 15
