Ready to start earning? Come to one of our Eye on Work sessions

‘I worried when I left school if I could ever work or lead an independent life. Thanks to LOOK mentoring, my confidence has been boosted and they have put me in touch with some life-changing contacts, I now work for a charity. I never thought life could be this good.’

Malcolm, 23

Sign up to the LOOK Eye on Work sessions and we will come to you and deliver an interactive workshop for young visually impaired people, led by our visually impaired mentors, who will discuss the challenges they overcame in finding work and staying in work.

Today, our VI mentors work in a range of sectors, including banking, media & communications, teaching, the voluntary and charity sector, events management, customer services, catering, and many more.

Despite this, many talented and resourceful young visually impaired people are out of work. This needs to change – we need to equip young people to be resilient and know their rights to ensure their future.

Our workshops enthuse and empower young visually impaired people to:

  • Learn about the world of work
  • Discover what jobs are possible
  • Learn to talk confidently about your disability and remove barriers
  • Develop interview techniques
  • Pick up tips on selling yourself and networking.
  • Improving Communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding Access to Work and the support on offer

Join us and make a difference in a fun and lively workshop packed full of stories of success. With the right support, skills and strategy, success is possible.

LOOK Eye on Work sessions are 3 hours.
