Find Your Calm: Wellbeing Workshops for Parents/Carers with WISE KIDS.

Sign-up for our online workshop series, nurturing wellbeing for parents/carers of visually impaired children.

Are you a Parent/Carer of a visually impaired child? Do you need to build some calm and space into your everyday life?

LOOK is delighted to be working with WISE KIDS to offer you a 4-week online mindfulness based programme called ‘Find your Calm’.

Big change can often evoke feelings of stress and anxiety. We know that this can be particularly true for parents/carers in our community as we head into the transition out of lockdown, our children back into schools and facing a host of new challenges.

This series of 4 workshops facilitated by Dr. Sangeet Bhullar from WISE KIDS is aimed at parents and carers of visually impaired youth. The workshops aim to help participants develop their sense of ease, wellbeing and emotional resilience, as well as coping strategies based on mindfulness practice.

The programme consists of four one-hour online workshops offering a chance for reflection and mindfulness-based practice for nurturing well-being. You will also have access to a sharing platform including resources and recordings from the programme.

You are invited to attend a taster session on Wednesday 17th of March at 1pm.

Following the taster, you can then choose to book onto the remaining 3 sessions.

Dates:

Taster Session 1: Wednesday 17th March 1pm-2pm

Session 2: Wednesday 24th March 1pm-2pm

Session 3: Wednesday 31st March 1pm-2pm

Session 4: Wednesday 7th April 1pm-2pm

Upon buying your ticket you will receive a link to complete a registration form from WISE KIDS. Please note that the information you provide during the booking and registration process is shared by LOOK and WISE KIDS so we can facilitate this project.

Additional 3 sessions ticket = £11.37

Full course ticket = £22.15

• Listening and addressing daily challenges through mindfulness

• Checking in with everyone

• A 10 minute mindfulness meditation

• Our inner world and outer world

• Auto-pilot habits and reactivity

• Practising mindful listening and connecting in our everyday situations

• Closing with a 2 minute breath awareness practice

Session Four

• Checking in with everyone

• A 10 minute mindfulness meditation

• Exploring acceptance and courage

• A daily practice – kindness, compassion and gratefulness

• Embedding mindfulness in our everyday lives

• Closing with a 2 minute breath awareness practice
