Meet your hosts
This star-studded night calls for equally dazzling hosts to guide us through the evening, and we’re thrilled to introduce them!
Joining us are two of LOOK’s exceptionally talented mentors: Sydney May and Matt Johnson, who will bring their charisma, passion, and musical flair to the virtual stage.
Matt Johnson, a talented singer and guitarist, brings energy and heart to his role as a LOOK mentor. Passionate about raising awareness for LOOK’s mission, Matt’s charisma and dedication make him the perfect host for an unforgettable evening.
Sydney May, a bassist in a Brighton-based band with their debut album released in 2021, is a gifted musician and dedicated LOOK mentor. Her passion for music, creativity, and inspiring others makes her the perfect co-host for this special event.
Together, Sydney and Matt will guide us through a night of incredible performances, laughter, and celebration, ensuring every moment is as memorable as the talents on display.

Meet the LOOK Talent Show performers
Meet Chapman Shum
Chapman Shum is a 14-year-old blind and neurodivergent pianist. Despite facing challenges including blindness, autism, learning disabilities, and hearing loss, Chapman has achieved remarkable milestones. At just 13 years old, he earned the ABRSM ARSM Diploma in Piano Performance, likely making him the youngest blind pianist to achieve this feat.
Currently, Chapman is pursuing the Trinity LTCL Diploma while actively showcasing his talent through performances at concerts, charity events, and festivals. He was named Nasen’s Young Advocate of the Year 2024 and is a proud member of the National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO) and the London Youth Folk Ensemble.
Meet Laiba
Hi, My name is Laiba and I’m 18 years old. I have been singingfor as long as I can remember and have always loved discovering new singers that inspire me. By the age of 12, I was confidently writing my own songs, and even tried to get on Britain’s Got Talent once… it didn’t work out. Due to the fact that I’m blind and autistic, I have a lot of drama to write about and have written 6 songs over the past year that I am very proud of. I hope to advance my singing career and make something of myself. My current inspiration is Ava Max. Her difficult life story always reminds me to never give up. As Ava always says “It’s gonna come when the time’s right.”
Meet Alma and Suzie.
Alma, aged 9 and Suzie, aged 7 are sisters who are performing a duet together. They both have a diagnosis of Lebers Congenital Amaurosis and have been Severely sight impaired/blind since birth. Alma has been playing the flute for about 18 months now and Suzie has been learning the piano since she was aged 5. They both love to perform and are looking forward to taking part in the Look Talent Show together.
Meet Lacey
Hi, my name is Lacey, I am a LOOK Mentor and also one of the Project assistants at LOOK. I have been a musician for a long time, but this will be the first time I will have performed at a LOOK talent show without anyone else performing with me. I haven’t performed alone since I was at college several years ago. The song I’m singing is A Merry Little Christmas and was picked by AI, though I technically cheated because I wasn’t happy with the first couple of options that it gave me. I think that singing a Sam Smith song is an ambitious choice with just a piano backing track, but I decided to challenge myself to help support the Big Give campaign this year. I hope you can come along and be a part of this awesome show too!
Meet Abi.
Hi, my name is Abi, I am 21, a singer/songwriter and I am also visually impaired. I have been teaching myself guitar for a few years and performing since last year. I played my biggest gig this summer where I had a festival stage which was so much fun! I hope to continue growing and performing music live, I love the strength music has in connecting people and the joy it brings.
Meet Aliza.
For those of you who don’t know me my name is Aliza. I am one of many London mentors here at Look UK. I am really excited to be performing at the talent show, as I enjoy singing especially solos. I have won many singing competitions at school. However, I haven’t had the opportunity to sing at a talent show in so long.
Meet Cloudi. Hi all, I’m Cloudy, a blind singer/songwriter from Latvia. I write and produce my own music and lyrics, I have been doing this for a number of years. At the talent show, I will be performing one of my greatly-loved hits.
Meet Ellie.
Ellie is a visually impaired actor, poet and LOOK Mentor. Her identity influences her creative work: from her disability to her queerness, she writes and performs evocative pieces that speak to her life experiences. Her first published poem appeared in Issue 20 of ‘Feral: A Journal of Poetry and Art’. She loves to share new work with her community and is looking forward to performing in the LOOK talent show!
Meet Grace
Hi, my name is Grace and I am a Look mentor. I am very creative and love writing songs and poetry. The song I have for you tonight is called Dance 2gether. I wrote it myself in 2022 as a message of hope after the pandemic
Meet George.
My name is George and I’m 11 years old. I love animals, music and technology. I was born with Peter’s Anomaly and I’m registered severely visually impaired from birth. I’m also neurodivergent. I started to play the piano when I was 5 years old. Currently, I’m preparing for Grade 5. I’m looking forward to playing my piece.
Meet Paige.
Paige, 22, is a visually impaired vocalist and member of 4 piece, female-fronted rock band Shoot the Messenger. She specialises in a variety of music styles from rock and pop to musical theatre..
Meet Samih.
Hi everyone. My name is Samih, I’m 20 years old and I’m super excited to perform at the Look talent show. I’m a passionate singer and part-time songwriter and my proudest achievement is being a Look UK mentor. Look forward to seeing you all at the talent show.
Meet Rona
Rona is a LOOK Mentee and this summer joined the LOOK mentoring team for work experience at LOOK HQ! She is an avid singer and has even performed for Peter Andre!
