The 2nd of August 2020 was a spectacular Sunday – and that is all thanks to everyone who took part in our #LookOpenMic fundraising event!

Our gifted performers treated us to a dazzling display of song and musical renditions. We are super-proud to be a part of such a talented community and it was an honour to be able to celebrate our young performers.

Here are some screenshots of the event:

Championing the event and seamlessly introducing each act, were our amazing comperes and Look mentors, Rupert and Lorna.

Look mentors and awesome musicians, Lorna and Rupert.

Lorna trained as a Look mentor last year and has mentored two young people in that time.

Rupert completed his training – remotely – in March and has been mentoring one young VIP.

Both Lorna and Rupert are exceptional musicians and have played pivotal roles in our Online Youth Forums, particularly the group music sessions, and both have been fantastic at supporting Look events, forums, and most importantly the young people at the heart of Look. They are both always a pleasure to work with, and their enthusiasm and good nature make the sessions for our young people such good fun.

We are very excited about working with them on future projects and it’s an absolute joy to see Look mentors at the heart of Look projects.

Thank you so much to everyone who bought a ticket or donated via the new Text-To-Donate number; it is thanks to your donations that we are able to run our Mentoring programme and offer the fantastic forums and support services that encourage our visually impaired young people to THRIVE!

To everyone involved in this event, we’d like to extend a very heartfelt – THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!
