January 11th PSG Chat, 19:30
Come and meet other Parent Carers of Children and Young People with a Visual Impairment. This is an opportunity to say hello, discuss how the holidays were and consider what 2022 has in store for you and your family in a safe and supportive environment.
January 25th, 19:30, Themed session: How to Build Independent Skills and Support Your VI Child to Leave Home.
This session is particularly focused on parent carers whose children will need extra support, training and professional input to leave home and live independent lives. We know it is possible in theory but who is there to help and what can it look like when your child has additional needs?
This session is designed to answer some of these questions and build your confidence to start planning for the future. There will be an expert parent and her daughter sharing their story as well as one of our wonderful mentors who appreciates her PAs and how they enable her to access the community and live a fulfilled life. Alice Osborne – children and young people’s enablement officer at Henshaws- will also be part of the panel to share how the charity help VI young people live as independently as possible. We look forward to welcoming you to this informative event.
Be a part of LOOK’s supportive community.
Our community is growing and there is always room for more parent carers to share their stories and discover they are not on their own.
