LOOK is excited to invite visually impaired musicians to submit their entries for the International Low Vision Song Contest (ILSC) 2025. This global competition provides a platform for blind and partially sighted artists to showcase their musical talent and creativity to an international audience.

International Low Vision Song Contest features singers from Austria, Belgium, Chad, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Guinea & Sierra Leone, Italy, Lithuania, Marokko, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Togo, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

LOOK is searching for a star to represent the UK in the final of this prestigious competition on the 16th of May 2025 – it could be you!

Who Can Enter?

Anyone from the LOOK community is welcome to enter, including mentors, mentees, and friends of LOOK.

What Are the Requirements?

To qualify, your song must meet the following criteria:

  • At least one of the lyricists, composers, or musicians must be blind or partially sighted.
  • The song must be an original composition.
  • The song must include lyrics.
  • The song must be no longer than 4 minutes or must be faded out at the 4-minute mark.

Submissions must be in one of the following formats:

  • A video file (MOV or AVI) OR
  • An audio file (WAV)

What Do You Need to Submit?

Each submission must include:

  1. Song File – Audio (WAV) or Video (MOV/AVI), use the FREE file-sharing platform WeTransfer to send large files.
  2. Photos – At least two images (in portrait) of the artist(s) and/or visuals related to the song.
  3. Artist Information – Names and ages of all participants, their roles in the song’s creation, and details of who is visually impaired (including their eye condition and any additional information they wish to share).
  4. Contact Information – Email and phone number for the artist or band.
  5. Social Media – Links to artist(s) social media channels.
  6. Context – Background information about the artist(s) and your connection to LOOK UK, as well as details about the inspiration behind the song.

How to Submit?

Email your submission to elin@look-uk.org by the 21st March 2025. Please ensure that all required files and information are included in the correct format. Large files should be sent via the free file-sharing platform WeTransfer.

All participants must agree to allow their submitted materials to be streamed and published online and be available for a live interview during the grand finale show on the 16th May.

What Happens Next?

From the 31st of March, we will share all song submissions on LOOK’s social media channels, where the LOOK community will vote for their favourite song. The artist with the most votes will be chosen as LOOK’s nominated entry for the grand final.

Important dates for your diary:

  • 21st March: Song entry submission deadline
  • 31st March: Voting opens to the public for LOOK’s International Low Vision song entry
  • 11th April: Voting closes
  • 13th April: LOOK’s International Low Vision song entry is announced
  • 16th May: International Low Vision live final

Grand Final Details

  • Date: 16th May 2025
  • Where: Livestream on YouTube, hosted by DBSV (German Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted)
  • Who: The nominated artist will represent the UK against entries from 23 participating countries.

How to Vote for Your Favourite

  • Date: Voting opens to the public on 31st March and closes on 11th April 2025.
  • How: Videos and profiles of each submitted artist will be shared on LOOK’s social media channels during this period. The LOOK community will then have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artist. When voting closes on 11th April, the votes will be counted, and the artist who has collected the most votes will be chosen as LOOK and the UK’s nominated artist to take part in the ILSC grand finale.
  • When: We will announce LOOK’s nominated artist on the 13th of April 2025.
