The Student’s Handbook

Due to start Uni this September? Don't go anywhere without reading our Survival Guide first!

If you’re visually impaired and heading off to University (or some form of Higher Education) this September, don’t go without first reading our Survival Handbook!

It’s full of top tips, advice, and additional resources and covers a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from DSA to tech support.

Did you know…?

Here at Look we run a Student Mentor Scheme.

If you are 18 – 29 and in higher or further education, we can match you with a visually impaired graduate, who can chat to you about making the most of college or uni life.

Your Look Student Mentor can help with:

  • Applying for Disability Students Allowance and Student Finance
  • Accessing learning materials
  • Independent living
  • Social life

To find out more about our Student Mentoring Service, email mentoring@look-uk.org or call us on +44 (0) 7464 351 958.

Good luck, have fun and remember, Look is here for you!
