In collaboration with Usher Kids UK, we are holding a virtual get-together on:
Wednesday 24th March 2021, 19:30 – 21:00 UK GMT
Many families are keen to hear about progress towards treatments for Usher syndrome, and we are delighted to host a number of experts who will give information about their current research programmes. Please bring along all your questions, big or small, our experts will be happy to answer them all!
We will be joined by:
• Mariya Moosajee, Professor of Molecular Ophthalmology, UCL/Moorfields Eye Hospital/Gt. Ormond Street/Francis Crick Institute https://www.crick.ac.uk/research/find-a-researcher/mariya-moosajee
• ProQR (biotech company, based in Netherlands) who will give an overview of their Usher 2A programme https://www.proqr.com/QR-421a-for-USH2A-RP
• Retina UK will be represented by Kate Arkell, Research Development Manager, who will discuss their portfolio of projects
• Stephen White, who has recently joined CUREUsher as a Trustee, will provide an update on their research portfolio www.cureusher.org
We hope you’ll join us for this informal and valuable session, and look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 24th March 19:30 – 21:00 UK GMT.
This event will be recorded. The recording of the presentations delivered by guest speakers will be made available on the LOOK UK and Usher Kids UK channels. This recording will not include any media clips including participants.
Registration closes for this event at 17:30 UK GMT on the day of the event.
All LOOK online events are hosted on the Zoom platform. Zoom meeting details are provided by email to those who have registered to attend. You can read our guide on using Zoom to join LOOK online events here.
Opportunities to connect with other Usher families are vital, as they help us all learn and share ideas about how to best support our children. Our Zoom video calls will cover a range of topics, and are aimed at any parent or carer of a child with Usher syndrome.
If you prefer you can switch off your video, mute your microphone and just listen in. We will have parents of children at different ages and stages joining us, so this is a great place to meet others, ask questions, share experiences and benefit from peer support.
Sign-in information will be sent to registered attendees by 18:30 UK GMT on the day of the event.
